Getting Around the NFL Draft with POGOH

Everything you need to know about using Bike Share in Pittsburgh

April 23 – April 25

Pittsburgh is getting ready to welcome thousands of visitors for the NFL Draft. With increased crowds and street closures expected, getting around the city may look a little different than usual.

That is where POGOH comes in.

POGOH is Pittsburgh’s public bikeshare system, offering a joyful and convenient way to explore the city. With stations located throughout Pittsburgh and a bike fleet that includes both pedal bikes and electric assist bikes, POGOH makes it easy to move between neighborhoods, avoid traffic, and experience the Burgh from a new perspective.

Whether you are a local heading to Draft festivities or a visitor discovering Pittsburgh for the first time, bikeshare is a fun and flexible way to get around.

Experience Pittsburgh by Bike

Events like the NFL Draft bring an exciting energy to the city, and biking offers one of the best ways to take it all in. And for those who aren’t football fans, it’s also a great way to avoid NFL Draft and subsequent traffic and road closures all together!

POGOH allows you to hop on a bike, ride through the city, and return it to the nearest POGOH station to your destination. It is a great option for navigating crowded areas, exploring different neighborhoods, or simply enjoying the ride along the way.

If you are visiting for the Draft, POGOH’s new Day Pass makes it even easier to experience Pittsburgh by bike. Introduced on April 1, the Day Pass costs $16 and gives riders 24 hours of riding with unlimited 2-hour pedal bike trips and unlimited 30-minute e-assist trips. It is a simple and flexible way to move between Draft festivities, restaurants, scenic viewpoints, and neighborhoods throughout the city.

Plan Your Ride Ahead of Time

To make getting around easier during the Draft, we encourage riders to plan their trips before heading out. Use the POGOH Station Map to locate bikes and stations across the city.

With increased activity downtown, demand at certain stations will be higher than usual. Check the PBSC app before you ride to confirm bike and dock availability, allow a little extra time for your trip, and consider nearby stations if your first choice is full.

BikePGH has also created a helpful guide for navigating the city during the event, including accessible riding routes and nearby POGOH stations.

POGOH Bike Valet Locations

During the Draft Experience hours, POGOH will offer Bike Valet for POGOH bikes at 2 of our core stations in the Northside and Downtown:

  • North Shore Trail & Ft Duquesne Bridge
  • Liberty Ave & Stanwix St

At stations with Bike Valet service, POGOH team members will be on-site to help manage POGOH bike parking and answer questions about POGOH and biking at the event. Team members can help you rent and return POGOH bikes, and keep stations balanced. We want to make it easier for riders to start or end their trips during this high demand event.

Bike Valet locations are marked directly in the PBSC app with a small Bike Valet icon so riders can easily see which stations have team members on-site during the NFL Draft Experience: Thursday, April 23 noon-10pm, Friday, April 24 noon-10pm, and Saturday, April 25, 9am-6pm.

Please note: Bike Valet services are for POGOH riders only. No personal bikes will be managed by our Bike Valet team.

New to POGOH? Here’s How It Works

Using POGOH is simple.

Download the PBSC app

Choose how you want to ride and purchase a plan. For Single Ride customers, do not purchase a Single Ride until you are at a POGOH station and ready to ride.

Find a bike at any POGOH station.
Scan the QR code on the bike to unlock it.
Ride to your destination and return the bike to any station dock.

Many bikes in our fleet are electric assist bikes, which provide a gentle boost as you pedal. They are especially helpful for Pittsburgh’s hills and make longer trips even more enjoyable.
