New to biking or haven’t ridden in a while? This class is all about the basics like balancing and pedaling in a relaxed, supportive indoor space at the Homewood Brushton YMCA. Helmets are required and we’ve got one if you need it. You can bring your own bike or use a POGOH bike for free.
Biking 201 | May 9
If you’re ready for more, this class builds on the basics and helps you feel more confident riding on your own or with others. It’s held outdoors and focuses on real-world skills.

Hours: Wednesdays and Sundays, 10 AM to 4 PM
Location: Eliza Furnace Trailhead Parking Lot
Reservations are encouraged, especially early in the season when spots fill up quickly.

Try It Out for Free
Bike to Work Day | May 14
If you have ever thought about biking to work, or even just part of the way, this is your chance to give it a try with no commitment required.
We are offering free rides all day with a special Day Pass code, shared the week of, so you can test it out in a way that works for you. There will also be morning and evening activations hosted by BikePGH where you can hang with fellow POGOH commuters and ease into the experience.
No pressure to go all in. Even a short ride counts, and sometimes that is all it takes to realize how doable and enjoyable it can be.
On a typical day, a Day Pass is just 16 dollars. If it clicks, an annual membership is 150 dollars for the year, which is less than what many people spend on gas in just a couple of months.

Le Tour de Donut | May 23
This one speaks for itself.
Le Tour de Donut is part ride, part snack tour, and fully a good time. Cruise around the city, stop at donut pop-ups, and enjoy the ride at your own pace. You will have four hours to explore the route and hit as many spots as you would like.
No racing, no pressure, just bikes, bakeries, and a solid excuse to spend a morning outside.
This year’s lineup includes
- Pigeon Bagel
- Baked True North
- Paddy Cake Bakery
- Sidecar
Expect an easygoing 8 to 10 mile route, released two weeks ahead of the event.
Pro tip, it is even easier and more fun on a POGOH e-bike.
Why Biking Feels So Good
Biking is one of those things that’s good for you in a bunch of ways, but it doesn’t feel like a chore.
On the physical side, it’s great for your heart, builds strength, and is easy on your joints. You can go at your own pace and still get a solid workout.
Mentally, it’s a game changer. Getting outside, moving your body, and not being stuck in traffic can really shift your mood. Even a short ride can help you feel less stressed and more clear-headed. It’s a simple way to reset your day.
Not Sure Where to Start?
Start small.
